Seoul For Soul - Day 4

GWANGJANG MARKET

Gwangjang market is the place to satisfy the curiosity the foreign travelers. Most of the food that common Korean people eat can be found here. Tourists can easily see the side of a regular seoul life here

a very friendly stall owner. she even game me her namecard

After Gwangjang market, while on the way to our next destination, the 'mouth' of my boots opened up!! I have to find a cobbler as I still have 3 more days to my trip and my boots needs to last me till then!!

Luckily for me, I found one along the way but the cobbler was away for lunch! And so we decided to wait for him and he kept us waiting for 45mins!

the cobbler finally arrived after 45mins of waiting and he is doing my boot

another train station with tons of plastic surgery advertisements. that means, we are in the plastic heaven again!

APGUJEONG

Apgujeong is a residential and fashion district in Seoul. It consists of high end boutiques, shops, restaurants and cafes. It is also the location for headquarters of entertainment agencies such as SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment.

It is also the place to be seen. Unfortunately, we were there on a wrong day and we saw nothing. No beautiful people (again!) and no interesting streets (prob we were in the wrong way).

chilling out at the cafe

After Apgujeong, we decided to head back to our hotel area for dinner. Our hotel area which is 5mins away from Myeongdong has a street lined with many local restaurants. We reckon that it is a hang-out place for local Korean office workers as we saw many of the locals patronizing the restaurants.

We picked on one of them which serves  bbq. The dinner was yummy but it's a bit pricey.

we were wondering what we should do with the cup and then we realized it's to contain the oil which will flow from the hotplate

and the potato is to be used as a 'holder' for the meat if you don't want to overcook them

this is my favourite! thanks to my travelling partner who highly recommended this dish - beef tartar

the chinese lady who did the bbq for us

yes, everyone will be given an apron to wear...that's very thoughful of them

unlike the chinese which has to eat the meat with rice, fried rice is the last dish to be served in korea..

after dinner, a stroll in myeongdong has became a habit for us...

love those hair clips
