To get to the Ding Tai Fung here, you can hop into the MTR and take the Muzha Line (木扎线) to DaAn Station (大安)or you can just hop into a cab and tell the driver you want to head to the Ding Tai Fung in Yong Kang street.
The operating hours for this store is Mon - Fri, 10am to 9pm and weekends 9am to 9pm so a brunch here is the most perfect before you start your day!
The queue was quite long when we were there because there were a lot of japanese tour groups but we didnt have to wait long. The restaurant has 3 levels and traffic was pretty fast!
BKs waiting for their turn...

After a hearty brunch in Ding Tai Fung, we head to Yung Kang street for a walk. You'll not miss Yung Kang street, it is just round the corner of Ding Tai Fung. Once you get out of the restaurant, just make left turn around the corner and you're at the main street of Yung Kang.
Other than Ding Tai Fung, Yong Kang Beef Noodle is the other famous restaurant. We didn't visit this restaurant as we already had beef noodle the day before but it's definitely worth going.

We also spotted a stall selling this but we were too full to eat!! |
But we couldn't resist dessert!!!
And we decided to order the mango ice!!!
Bk1 and 2 posing with their ice...while it's melting away....
Yung Kang street is pretty near to Taipei 101, after the walk we head to 101 in a taxi for our chill out session.
@ 101
while bk2 and 4 went up the tower for photo session, bk1 and 3 decided to chill out in the cafe!
This is the cafe at the 4th floor of 101 (same level as Page One Bookstore), there is no wifi here and no great food but it was nice to chill here, air-conditioned and people watching :)
After 101, we decided to head to a new night market which we have never even heard of!! It is called Yonghe Lehua Night Market - 永和乐华夜市 (Thanks to our Taiwanese friend, Maggie, who suggested this!)。Everything here is cheaper than Shilin night market!!
We took a cab which brought us striaght to the entrance of the night market. Or you can choose to take the MTR and alight at DingXi station.
Upon reaching there we head to the restroom in the Cashbox Party KTV building and saw these cute cakes on display!
Some moments of self-indulgence...
The entrance of the night market....
This is my favourite!! It is lurou with very thin bee hoon and it's awesome!!!
After shopping, big bags small bags!! At the end of the night market!
The best surprise from this night market was when we chanced upon this store called Poya House. It is a growing shopping mart chain and the one just beside the night market is the latest opening from the chain!! It is like a mini-department of its sorts, focusing on cosmetics, shampoos, soaps and of course beauty and skin care products! It is a must come to me for future trips to Taipei!!!
Poya Living Mart
597 Wenshin Road, Section 4
Tel: (04) 2247-0011
Hours: 10am to 10.30pm
Once you are at the end of the Yonghe Lehua night market, turn left and just walk a few steps you'll see this store! Happy shopping!
After spending about an hour in Poya, we decided that it's time to head back to XMD for some midnight snacks and shopping!
Ah Zhong Mee Sua - 阿宗面线
me and bk4's favourite muah chee!!
Ming Jiam Kuey!
This is our favourite bag stall! Everything here is so nice! It's Taiwan brand so the quality is better!
And this is my favourite!!! I'm already missing it!!
And we went back to the hotel feeling full but satisfied :)
